The Winery, established in 1898, is the most southern vineyard on the river Saar. Its chateau, like the location combined with the warm climate conditions, is unique in Germany. The classified vineyards, surrounding the main estate belong solely to the winery. In particular, the Riesling wines from the steep slate-covered slopes of the Saar are distinctive in the worldwide wine scene.
There are currently 35 acres in yield. 23 acres of Riesling with an average age of 30 to 40-year-old vines. An additional seven acres are dedicated to Pinot Blanc, and two acres are reserved for Pinot Noir and another two for Auxerois in the warmest and steepest section of the estate.
State of the art cellar and grape processing machinery, along with top winemaking expertise continues the tradition of producing unique quality wine.
